Dark circus

The dark circus travels around the galaxy, appearing from nowhere to tour a planet with their show themed around darkness and morbidity. With some sort of supernatural divination the circus turns up just before some cataclysmic event will befall the populace, a war, plague or an asteroid, etc. before fading away as quickly as they came to some other unknown destination.
The dark circus is feared throughout the stars, for disaster always follows them.
